We are delighted to share with you some of the plans for the World Congress 2018, being held in Birmingham from 30 May to 1 June.
We are extremely pleased to announce that Penny Mordaunt MP, Secretary of State from the Department of International Development will be joining us. You will also hear from Robert Martin from the UN CRPD Committee.
In 2016, self-advocate Jayne from Kenya attended the International Convention and National Forum hosted by The Arc and Inclusion International in Florida, USA.

What else is happening during the World Congress?
The chance to come together in one place doesn’t happen very often. The opportunity to connect with friends and colleagues is too good to miss. Some of the organisations in our network will be hosting events that do not clash with the official Congress schedule, but as delegates you are welcome to attend.

Self-advocacy is when people with intellectual disabilities speak up for themselves about the things that are important to them. Self-advocates work for the inclusion of all people in a community.
